My name is Robert D Carter of Monticello, IN. I have another crew that I don’t see listed in your database. I was with the 98th Bomb group, 343rd squadron stationed in Leccee, Italy. Crew members were: Bill Shreve(Pilot), Robert Carter(co-pilot), Victor Ozmitz(navigator), Don Woods(gunner), Cal Page(Flight Engineer), Wally Anderson(Radio Operator), Fred Wightman(Tail gunner), Carlyle Nickler(turret gunner), ______Herndon(ball gunner), Gerald Hariman,(on crew when shot down over Linz), Bill Levine(navigator/bombadier when shot down over Vipitino). Plane names in this group were Snow White, Ball Breaker, and some of the 7 Dwarfs. On April 8, 1945 we were shot down over Richioni, Italy and had a safe landing RTD. We were listed as MIA. We were also shot down over Linz and it took 18 days to get back to the base. It has recently been documented that our crew was the last B-24 to be shot down during WWII. I will try to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for your information. The reason your crew is not on our database is you were in the 465th Bomb Group when you were shot down.
If you can give me more info on the Linz shoot down, Mainly I need the aircraft S/N. However I will continue to research that one.
please respond to my Email address. BOMBGRP98@aol.com
